✨ Tech Journey ✨
I started my journey in the #tech world in the early 2000s.
Back then an annoying dial was synonymous of internet, and an unlimited SMS package was limited to 500 messages a day haha.
My first contact with #technology was through some random courses that appeared in the city I lived at the time.
I learned how to create websites with Dreamweaver, edit photos with Illustrator, Corel Draw and Photoshop, and I even learned functions and automations with excel.
It was from that moment that I decided to go to college to depeen my knowledges about IT.
I confess that it was very difficult to choose the course at that time.
Because the internet was still giving its first steps.
There wasn’t no corporate social networks like #linkedin.
And it was quite difficult to find people online to talk, and ask for professional advice.
Choosing the course was basically a shot in the dark.
Because I based my course choise on Google searches (where all courses looked all the same haha).
But when I came across the Systems Analysis course, I believed it was more alike to what I had seen in the courses I had taken so far. Because it was more focused on #software.
And despite all the obstacles I faced at university, I managed to graduate in August 2021.
And following the guidance of some teachers, I ended up working in several different areas.
Until I decide to focus on #mobile development.
The advice I received in college was this:
"I recommend that you all go to the job market to feel what it’s like the routine of the desired stack.”
"Because here on the university, you all end up being into very controlled scenario. And you need to feel the daily’s challenges to make sure you want chose that stack.”
And for that reason I ended up taking a more generalist journey.
Today I can reuse the knowledge of the following areas where I worked: maintenance, automation, data analysis and FrontEnd.
Which helps me a lot nowadays.
Because I can have a wider point of view about the problems, and identify a set of more diverse solutions.
Because I take into account several factors, not just the technologies and tools within the mobile world.
That way I can build higher quality apps.
Currently my focus has been to specialize in the #mobile stack.
I have 6 years of experience as a software engineer, and 3 years as a mobile developer.
